🕊️ When You’re Afraid to Hope Again

🕊️ “When You’re Afraid to Hope Again”

Scripture

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed… His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.” — Lamentations 3:22–23
“Hope does not put us to shame.” — Romans 5:5

Reflection
When disappointment lingers, hope can feel risky. Your body remembers losses and tries to protect you by expecting less. That’s survival, not failure. Today we practice safe hope—rooted not in outcomes, but in the unchanging character of God. New mercies mean you don’t have to carry yesterday’s ending into today’s beginning.

Lolli Pause (2 minutes)

Arrive: Unclench your jaw; lower your shoulders.

Breathe: Inhale 4, hold 2, exhale 6 — four rounds.

Name: Whisper one place you’re afraid to hope.

Anchor: On the inhale: “Your mercies are new.”
On the exhale: “My hope is in You.”

Release: Open your hands. Imagine placing that hope into Jesus’ hands.

Prayer
Jesus, You know the stories that taught me to brace for pain. Teach my body Your peace and my heart Your mercy. I place this hope in Your keeping—no rush, no forcing, just trust. Guard me from despair and from denial; lead me into steady, honest hope in You. Amen.

Carry Into the Day

Write one sentence: “Today I will hope for ______ and leave the outcome to God.”

Read Psalm 27:13–14; linger on “Wait for the Lord; be strong.”

When fear returns, repeat: “New mercies. Safe hope.”
