🕊️ When the Night Feels Heavy
🕊️ When the Night Feels Heavy
Scripture
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? … Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him.” — Psalm 42:11
“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” — Psalm 4:8
Reflection
Short days can make long nights feel heavier. Your body notices the light change; your soul notices the quiet. This isn’t failure—it’s a season. Tonight we practice gentle steadiness: letting God hold what you can’t fix and teaching your nervous system what peace feels like again.
Lolli Pause (2 minutes)
Arrive: Unclench your jaw; lower your shoulders.
Orient: Name 3 things you see, 2 you feel, 1 you hear.
Breathe: Inhale 4, hold 2, exhale 6 — four rounds.
Prayer on breath:
Inhale: “Light of the world, draw near.”
Exhale: “I rest in Your care.”
Release: Place a hand over your heart and whisper: “You are with me.”
Prayer
Jesus, some nights feel longer than others. Hold the heaviness I can’t carry. Steady my body, quiet my mind, and lift my spirit toward Your faithful love. Give me enough light for this step and enough rest for tomorrow’s mercy. Amen.
Carry Into the Day
Place your morning Bible + mug by the window tonight.
Tomorrow, spend 5 minutes in daylight and read Psalm 23 aloud.
When the heaviness returns, repeat: “I am safe. He is here.”
