🕊️ When God Feels Silent
🕊️ Pause & Pray — “When God Feels Silent”
Scripture
“How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? … But I have trusted in your steadfast love.” — Psalm 13:1,5
Reflection
Silence can feel like abandonment, especially for hearts that learned to scan for danger. Your nervous system may read quiet as “not safe,” but the absence of noise is not the absence of God. In Scripture, waiting is holy space: roots growing underground, manna forming before dawn, stones warming before a sling. Today we practice staying present in the quiet—long enough to notice that Love is still here.
Lolli Pause (2 minutes)
Settle: Unclench your jaw; drop your shoulders.
Orient: Name 3 things you see, 2 you feel, 1 you hear.
Breathe: Inhale 4, hold 2, exhale 6 — four rounds.
Prayer on breath:
Inhale: “You are here.”
Exhale: “I am held.”
Receive: Place a hand on your heart and whisper, “Steadfast love.”
Prayer
Jesus, silence stirs old fears in me. Meet me in this quiet—steady my body, anchor my mind, and remind my spirit that Your love is not leaving. Teach me to trust what I cannot feel yet: You are here, and I am held. Amen.
Carry Into the Day
Read Psalm 13 aloud; underline the shift from “How long?” to “I will sing.”
Write one question to God and one sentence of trust.
When the quiet feels loud, return to: “You are here / I am held.”
