🕊️ Pause & Pray: When Your Mind Won’t Let You Rest

🕊️ Pause & Pray: When Your Mind Won’t Let You Rest

Scripture to settle your heart:

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” — Psalm 4:8

1) Breathe + Arrive (60 seconds)
Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly.

Inhale 4: “Jesus, You are here.”

Hold 2.

Exhale 6: “I am held.”
Repeat 6 slow cycles.

2) Notice + Name (reflect gently)

What worry is loudest right now?

Where do you feel it in your body (jaw, chest, stomach, shoulders)?

What would compassion say to you in this very moment?

3) Truth to Replace the Noise
Read these lines slowly, out loud if you can:

I am not alone in this night. (Isaiah 41:10)

God’s peace is available to me now. (John 14:27)

There is no condemnation for me in Christ. (Romans 8:1)

4) Short Prayer (pray with me)
“Jesus, I return what I cannot carry to Your hands.
Quiet my thoughts, soften my body, steady my breath.
Where fear tries to lead, lead me beside still waters.
Teach me to rest in the love that will not leave. Amen.”

5) A Tiny Act of Care (choose one)

Put your phone to bed outside the room.

Warm a cup of tea and read Psalm 23 aloud.

Write one line: “Tonight, I entrust ______ to You.” Place it on your nightstand.

6) Blessing for the Night
May the Lord place His hand over your mind and say, “Peace.”
May He guard your sleep, restore your strength, and remind you that you are wanted, seen, and safe in Him.

If your thoughts start to race again, return to the breath:
Inhale: “Jesus, You are here.” • Exhale: “I am held.”
