✨ Forgiveness doesn’t require self-abandonment. ✨ And faith + mental health don’t have to be in conf
🕊️ Pause & Pray: Mercy Without Self-Abandonment
PAUSE
If you’re trying to forgive but your body still feels tight…
If you’re carrying anger you don’t want to carry…
If part of you feels guilty for not being “over it”…
Take a breath. You’re not failing. You’re healing in layers.
BREATHE (60 seconds)
Hand on heart.
Inhale 4… exhale 6… (x5)
Unclench your jaw. Drop your shoulders.
Whisper: “Gentle is strong.”
PRAY
Jesus,
You see what happened to me—every detail, every cost, every tear I tried to swallow.
Thank You that You are not asking me to pretend.
Thank You that truth and mercy can live in the same place.
Lord, teach my heart what my mind already knows:
that forgiveness is not denial,
and boundaries can be holy.
Help me release what is poisoning me,
without abandoning myself.
Heal what my anger has been protecting.
Strengthen the parts of me that still feel afraid.
And give me the wisdom to take the next right step—slow, steady, and safe.
God of peace, regulate my nervous system.
God of mercy, soften what is hard.
God of truth, set me free.
I trust You with the process.
I trust You with the timing.
I trust You with my healing.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. ✝️
