🕊️ Christian Prayer for Healing: When It’s Hard to Pray for Yourself
🕊️ Pause & Pray — “Christian Prayer for Healing: When It’s Hard to Pray for Yourself”
Scripture
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” — Hebrews 4:16
Reflection
If you’ve spent years praying fiercely for everyone else but hesitated to whisper your own name, you’re not alone. Shame trains the heart to believe help is for other people. But Jesus invites you—by name—to come close. Counseling, medication, music, and breath can steady the body; His Word assures the soul. Today, give yourself the same compassion you offer others. Coming to God for you isn’t selfish; it’s obedience to grace.
Lolli Pause (2 minutes)
Posture: Sit comfortably. Let your shoulders drop.
Breath: Inhale through the nose for 4, hold 2, exhale through the mouth for 6. Repeat 4 times.
Name: Place a hand on your chest and quietly say your own name before God.
Truth: On each inhale: “Father, I belong to You.” On each exhale: “Your grace is for me, too.”
Receive: Imagine mercy like warm light filling the places that feel unworthy.
Prayer
Jesus, I’ve carried others to Your feet and forgot to bring myself. Today I come—no performance, no proving—just need. Meet me with the help You promise. Teach my body what Your safety feels like and my heart what Your kindness sounds like. Amen.
Carry Into the Day
Write one sentence: “Today I will receive ____ from God.”
Read Psalm 23 aloud. Let “You restore my soul” be your refrain.
