🕊️ Pause & Pray: Quiet the Doomscrolling, Reclaim Your Peace

🕊️ Pause & Pray: Quiet the Doomscrolling, Reclaim Your Peace

If your mind feels loud lately—if the news, social media, and nonstop input have you feeling anxious, angry, or emotionally numb—this is your gentle reminder:

Constant information is not the same as wisdom.
And your nervous system was not created to carry the whole world.

Let’s come back to what is true.

PAUSE
Unclench your jaw. Drop your shoulders.
Place one hand on your chest and one on your belly.

BREATHE (60 seconds)
Inhale 4… exhale 6… (x5)
On every exhale, whisper: “I release the noise.”

PRAY
Jesus,
My mind has been full—too full.
I’ve been taking in more than I can hold,
and I can feel it in my body.

Forgive me for feeding fear instead of faith.
Forgive me for letting urgency steal my peace.
Teach me the difference between being informed and being consumed.

Right now, I choose Your presence over the algorithm.
I choose Your voice over the noise.
I choose daily bread over tomorrow’s dread.

Lord, regulate my nervous system.
Where my thoughts are racing, slow them.
Where my body is braced, soften it.
Where I feel numb, bring me back to life.
Where I feel heavy, lift me—gently.

Give me wisdom for what to take in… and what to lay down.
Give me courage to set boundaries that protect my mind.
And give me a holy focus:
to love You, love people well, and live today with steady hands.

Everything is for Your glory—not mine.
And I trust You to carry what I cannot.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. ✝️

SCRIPTURE ANCHOR
Isaiah 26:3 (peace for the mind stayed on Him)
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."

GENTLE STEP (pick one)

Set a “news window” today: 10 minutes only, then stop.
Move your phone out of reach for 1 hour and say: “I’m choosing peace.”
Text one safe person: “Can you pray for my mind to rest today?”
